[Idag] Let's get our group active again

Greetings fellow instructional designers!

 

It seems we have all gotten so busy that we have forgotten to keep in
touch with each other!  I know...it gets busier and busier every day!
But would you still like to have opportunities to network with and learn
from your peers?  Let's give it another try to get our unique group
active again.

 

What benefits do you get as a member of our group?

1.	Opportunities to network with other instructional designers.
2.	Contact with other Instructional Designers that may be able to
help you with specific ID/technology problems and questions.
3.	A place to "vent" to someone who truly understands the
challenges of our field.

 

How can you help?

1.	Sign up for (and participate in) the IDAG list serve at
http://mail.marylanddla.org/mailman/listinfo/idag_marylanddla.org.
(Also browse the Maryland Distance Learning Association main web site at
http://www.marylanddla.org/index.html.  
2.	"Attend" a meeting - every meeting includes at least one
"learning opportunity" or educational presentation of interest to
instructional Designers.
3.	Invite other instructional designers to join.  If they would
like to be included in future email mailings encourage them to send
their email address to me at bdubins at allegany.edu.
4.	Participate in our list serve.
5.	Volunteer to help organize a meeting
6.	Volunteer to make a presentation at one of our meetings
7.	Volunteer to work on a sub-committee
8.	Let us know what topics you would be interested in discussing or
attending a training session on.

 

** NEW ** - I think it's a great time to start meeting virtually.  I
propose we conduct some of our meetings using WebTrain, phone conference
or other similar tools.   NO TRAVEL REQUIRED!  A virtual meeting is
being planned for early February.

 

Also remember that MDLA is now soliciting proposals for presentations
for the 2008 conference to be held on March 4-5.  Please consider
submitting a proposal.
