Thanks for that information.  I didn't know you were associated with our hosting company , but I'm happy to know that!
 
I might also add that if anyone wants to send a private email to someone on the list you can actually get that persons individual email address by viewing the subscriber list from the "Join List Serve" page.  To do that:
 
1) Go the the marylanddla.org main site
2) Click on "Resources"
3) Click on Instructional Design Affinity Group
4) Click on "Join List Serve"
5) At the bottom of that page there is an "Idag Subscribers" section.  If, when you originally signed up for the list serve, you also created a password you can enter your email address and password here.  It will then take you to a page that lists the email addresses of every member of the list serve. 
 
If you did not create a password when you originally signed up for the list serve I THINK you can sign up for it again and create a password this time around.  But I am guessing you will have to unsubscribe your original email address first, and then re-subscribe it and associate a password with it this time.
 
Incidentally, the "Join List Serve" page is also the page you use to unsubscribe from the list serve.

Hi. I am going to step and answer this one.

My name is Richard Smith from Harford Community College. I am am member of MDLA, but  not a member of IDAG. But I own the hosting company that MDLA and IDAG uses. So I monitor traffic just in case.

Listserv software is frankly not "smart" enough to know which is private communication. If you reply to or send initial emails to the listserv email address they will go to everyone. And once they are sent you can't stop them The software is pretty limited.

You can also subscribe to the digest version of the listserv, so that you get smaller numbers of emails. But the Digest will still have all traffic inside of it.
