[Idag] IDAG - Professional Development Question

Julie,
I'd be interested in meeting earlier than the end of the semester. The first week in May would be better personally. As the end of the semester comes, I do more training and workshops with the faculty - including the online learning professional development program that we run.
To start information based the criteria Bobbi sent out, I would like to contribute the following:
Training name: Soaring with Online Learning
Length: 6 week program
Delivery format (f2f or online): Online with F2F meetings at the beginning and end
Preparation for teaching online or for developing online, or both: Currently for developing & delivering; Summer 2008 splitting the program into 2 for those who will just be delivering courses and for those who will do both delivery and develop.

Great idea on how to get us started and organized Bobbi. I'd be happy to compile the master plan from what we post here. Would it be a good idea to organize a f2f meeting for interested people, maybe in May after the semester is over? In that meeting we could look at the master list, I could share my experience with national tutor certification processes and logistics, perhaps we could have Joan talk about her experiences in Virginia and the state grant, Bobbi could give us feedback on MOL, and we could come up with a plan. I'd be happy to host in Frederick, but I know a number of us are in Baltimore so maybe that'd be a better area to convene? We could also try online conferencing...though sometimes it's good to meet f2f for the initial planning - maybe with an option of conferencing in at a distance for those who can't travel.
Thanks,
Julie

I am in the midst, and am almost done, creating an on-line training workshop
that will last about 8-10 weeks. It's intense training, but the results of
my f2f version were good. Our faculty have asked for it to be online..... I
agree they should experience what it's like to be an online student before
they go online themselves.
I'm happy to share my course, which is in Blackboard...... it's not done
yet, but almost.
