I've been able to book our board room (very comfy chairs) for Thursday
April 17 from 10-1pm. FCC can provide coffee to start and lunch for
those of you who come in person. The board room can only conference call
in two people which is a draw-back, but so far only two people have said
they want to be part of the conference call - Suzi and Jennifer. So, so
far we have Bobbi, Karen, Melissa, Helen, and Diana who can come
in-person, plus Suzi and Jennifer on conference call. Have a missed
anyone, or is there anyone else who can participate then?

Food-wise - is a box-lunch with sandwiches OK? I can do veggie ones,
meat ones - any preferences?

the Admin Building, 2nd floor - A-201. Parking is in the Visitors
Parking lot which is signed as you come on campus.

Does this work? Please let me know if I should go ahead with the above.
If it's a go, let me know if you are coming in person, or what # to call
you on for the conference call - it's a system where I call you to pick
you up on a three-way phone call - not very sophisticated but it works.

I can probably do April 17 as well - I'd prefer to attend in person too,
even though it's a bit of a hike. Good think I like driving :)

I'm only available on the 17th but very willing to come to any location.
I'd rather be at this meeting than via phone/video conference.

Julie,

I would love to have us meet in Frederick, as that is a shorter drive
for me and I have been making so many drives all the way to Baltimore
lately. 

How does everyone feel about meeting at Frederick?  It is too
inconvenient for the rest of the group?  No matter where we meet, I
would like to try to phone conference or video conference in whoever is
interested but can't come...so that would be a consideration.

I can do either April 15 or 17th.  

Who else would be interested in coming, and who would be interested in
attending my phone/video conference?

Subject: [Idag] MOL and Certification for Online Instructors

Dear All,
I was just telling my supervisor, Jurgen Hilke, about our ideas about
state-wide certification, and he summarized where MOL stands on this so
far. Apparently, in the last MOL board meeting, there was talk around
what projects MOL could give seed money too, and one proposal came up
from BCCC on a mentoring program for online instructors. MOL suggested
that BCCC relook the proposal in terms of thinking about a certification
program instead along the lines of the one Northern Virginia is about to
pilot (that was described in an earlier thread in this IDAG discussion).

To cut a long story short, MOL does have money available to start up
some projects and this state-wide online certification would be a good
project. We would have to get our proposal for seed $ to MOL by May 1st.
Do you think it's possible for us to meet in the third week of April to
brainstorm an initial proposal to get to MOL by May 1? I am happy to
host here at FCC or travel to a Baltimore location if that's a more
central point. I know Bobbi says she teaches M/W/F and I teach T/Th
afternoons - so  do either Tue April 15 or Thur April 17 10-1pm work for
people? Or the following week - but that would be very close to the MOL
deadline.
